One of the most interesting games of round 8 was a derby match between two teams from Colombia. The game took place in Medellin where second rankedPaisas outleveled visiting Caimanes (0-6) 98-75 . Paisas outrebounded Caimanes 46-27 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brandon Weatherspoon (193-2000, college: FAU) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and the other American import guard Mike Miles Jr (188-2002, college: TCU) who added 23 points and 5 assists during the contest. Forward Yildon Mendoza (206-1996, college: Angelo St.) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Argentinian guard Alejo Britos (187-1994) scored 17 points. Four Caimanes players scored in double figures. Defending Colombian champion maintains second position with 3-3 record having just three points less than leader Sesi/Franca. Caimanes at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost.
